Project one, scene one.

A few of us here have decided to make a promotional animation to be posted on youtube that will allow the viewers to decide what the show should be like. For example, Dark and twisted? Casual and funny? Love and toleration?

We suggest we use a few of the main ponys alongside some original ponys of our own. Maybe they are all exited and interrupting each other, or they are blank and emotionless and the viewers need to help them find there mojo. and/or the viewers post ideas for new ponys.

We want everyone to build on this idea in any way you can think of.
Post some lines you can think could say. Pass around some story boards, edit and add on to them. Once we have a storyboard we can move on to the production of it all.

So here goes our first project. Anyone is welcome to jump in at any time.

Admin: Okay. I whipped something up based around ybcrazys story board.
His story board depicted a group of ponys eagerly awaiting a tape that is about to be played. Whilst one pony adjusts the video settings.

Now, don't get to exited.. it is not much at all, yet. It is a very rough draft. I did not want to get too carried away so there is still room for input.

I think we should work on this 30 sec scene for now. It will help get the creative juices flowing. before I animate this, I need some backgrounds so I posted a request in the background art forum. Whilst we are waiting for some backgrounds. Dose someone want to come up with a little dialogue? For example:

Box 2 - Various chatter from each pony over lapped. Crowd noise...
Fluttershy: Oh, this is going to be great, blha blha blha
rainbow dash, omg, omg, omg.. etc
But all over lapped at once.

Box 3 - Pinki is holding up the tape.
Pinkie pie: Its.. its... AMAZING!
Everyone else chips in and says something about it.

Well, you get the idea. Come up with some dialogue, and we will send it over to the voice acting forum.



As for the next scene, I think we should have the mane6 looking for new ponies and talent, for example.. pinki pie running around with a camera from the cameras perspective with some rather odd shots.. So if someone would like to come up with some story boards for scene 2 whilst the designers and animators are creating the first scene. That would be awesome.

Have pinkie in fluttershys shed on a computer and she says oh this just happened then cues to the other ponies saying oh my the at the end fluttershy kicks the door open yelling get out of my shed

Hmm... what if this whole scene is the intro to a Robot Chicken/MAD style of show where it's all about shorts and cracking little jokes. It could be something to start with before actual big stories and characters are made.
We just do skits and shit with ponies.

After it pans to the TV and Pinkie makes the adjustments it zooms into the screen as whatever our title of the show comes up. As the title comes up one of the characters yells for everypony to be quiet or just a loud "SSSSHHHH". Then it starts.

Just putting ideas out there.

Uhh.. a story board for the idea of the show itself or the intro? If you mean the intro then almost exactly what is posted above... as for the show... I don't have the creativity to think of how that would actually go.

you have a good idea...can you find a way to get the "SSSHHHH" distortion sound that goes between scenes (like robot chicken) and post the audio of it in the sound studio section?

I like DarthBlam's idea of the robot chicken style. So what if. People start thinking of short "cut-away" sketches, little clips keep getting made. Then the whole thing could be mashed together.
Like DB said; We have scene one, It zooms in to the TV.. Plays loads of cut-aways with the SHHHH static thing in between clips. After a few, it zooms back out to loads of confused ponys awkwardly looking at each other as if to say what the fuck was that. Then a pony or ponys turn to the "camera" to address the viewers to ask for help finding a style, and to get more people on board.

Make sense?

so that part is set...we got the basic idea done...now to the cut scenes

with taht we will refine all scripts...this can be perfect for short narrations of character stories as the idea is to make it confusing and badly organized.

Can someone come up with the diolouge for scene one so we can send it over to the voice actors.



We need some BG art as well. - Once we have speach and backgrounds, scene one can be being animated whilst people work on cut-aways.

Maybe we could animate a show into the TV, starting with the theme song rotiart made, after that we could make a comedic skit followed by info on the show that will be made.

Also, who will do the voices for the female ponies?

right now we only have male voice actors, female voice actors are hard to find but im sure we can find some. worst case scenario i'll adjust the pitch on the voices in the editing process.

Yeah its was only a rough one so people get the idea.

The planning of scene one is complete. Its in the artists hands now. Animators, Voice actors, Designers and editors. Get organised.
